Position: Manufacturing Inside Sales/CSR

Reports to: Sales Manager

Northwestern Tools is a family-owned, small manufacturer (40-50 employees) of metal workholding products, plungers, fasteners and levelers. Established in 1942, Northwestern Tools maintains a catalog of more than 10,000 products and also manufactures parts to customer specifications.

Position Description:

The ideal candidate is a relationship builder with a strong passion for customer relationships, positive attitude, and a reliable team member. The Manufacturing Inside Sales/CSR is responsible for identifying growth opportunities with existing customers. This position will also support customer service through order entry, acknowledgements, communication with customers, acquiring lead times and quoting standard products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Follow up on quotes.
  • Identify sales growth opportunities with existing customers.
  • Analyze sales data using existing tools and developing new ones.
  • Work with engineering and production to support customer technical inquiries.
  • Update and manage CRM system.
  • Day-to-day order management - including order entry, tracking and expediting.
  • Process quotes, sample requests, and additional business documents.
  • Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate departments.
  • Communicate sales opportunities and need for further technical demonstrations/support
  • Handle general inquiries, lead follow up
  • Work with outside sales in building relationships with customers
  • Interface with Manufacturers CRM systems, EDI order entry, website orders

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma and customer service experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Higher education preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of inside sales experience
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills; professional email etiquette
  • Ideal candidate will have experience selling within industrial distribution or manufacturing industry, fastener experience a plus
  • Team oriented, dependable, with a strong work ethic
  • Show initiative to learn Northwestern Tools products, capabilities and customers.
  • Trustworthy, positive, respectful demeanor
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with the use of ERP software systems
  • Ability to multitask as well as work independently
  • Self-Starter

Compensation:

  • On-site.
  • Hours 8-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Pay commensurate with experience
  • Full benefits after 90 days, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, PTO and paid holidays. After one year, 401(k) with employer match.

Pay: From $42,000.00 per year
